United Families International's Latest Publication Casts Doubt on Women's Health, Abortion Industry
MESA, Arizona– Each year, 68,000 women worldwide die of abortion and 144,000 American women are injured during abortions. Until now, comprehensive information on the dangers, harms and abuses of abortion has not been readily available. United Families International's (UFI) latest booklet in an ongoing series of publications on family policy informs the public on the specter of abortion in a way that hasn't been done before. The “Guide to Family Issues: Abortion” is a thorough and comprehensive source of facts that will open women's eyes to the reality of abortion.
The publication provides peer-reviewed scientific research, expert commentary and sound, logical arguments supporting the pro-life position on the controversial topic of abortion.
This new publication follows UFI 's 2003 work, “Guide to Family Issues: Sexual Orientation” and is the second in a series of two dozen booklets on topics impacting family policy. Additional booklets will be produced on divorce, marriage, cohabitation, pornography, sex education, the media's impact on families, feminism and others. The Abortion Guide was produced in order to educate the public, lawmakers, governmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations, families and individuals, media organizations and others on the negative consequences of abortion on women, children, men, families and society;
The “Guide to Family Issues: Abortion” begins by addressing the essential argument surrounding abortion: is the unborn child human? By quoting embryology textbooks, UFI 's publication drives home the point that human life begins at conception and deserves protection during all stages from beginning until natural death:
The Guide uses social science research to make the case that abortion is seldom a woman's “choice,” due to the coercion of others. Research is also clear that “legal abortion” does not guarantee “safe abortion.” Abortion poses many risks for women, including breast cancer, tearing of the cervix, damage to internal organs, sterility, depression, psychiatric hospitalization, death, an increased likelihood of suicide. Abortion clinics do not adequately inform women of the risks, nor are they sufficiently regulated.
Additionally, readers will learn:
- about the dangers of the abortion drug RU-486;
- how the National Abortion Rights Action League made up false statistics to unethically influence public opinion on abortion;
- that 28 percent of post-abortive women attempted suicide; and
- that women typically experience better health by delivering their babies, as opposed to aborting them.
The abortion booklet is available on the UFI website.
