INTERNSHIP NEEDS
Publications (For persons majoring in: Communication, Computer Science & Engineering, Art, English, Political Science, Information Systems, Sociology & Social Work, Child & Family Studies, Home & Family Education)
Guides to Family Issues – UFI is producing nearly two dozen booklets on issues impacting the family. Interns are needed for research, editing and formatting.
The Family Reporter Newsletter – Writers and editors are needed to assist in the production of monthly newsletters addressing issues, current events and UFI's accomplishments.
UFI Website – Interns will experience the opportunity to update and maintain UFI's sites.
News Alerts – Interns are needed for research, writing and editing “President's Messages” and news briefs for weekly email news alerts to the UFI membership list.
Information Technology – Qualified interns will have the opportunity to help UFI with technical needs, including front end and back end duties related to UFI's Web sites, email news alerts, data bases and office computer maintenance and enhancements.
Graphic Arts & Design – Qualified interns will have the opportunity to design newsletters and art work for UFI's Web sites, brochures, booklets, “Guides to Family Issues” and other publications.
Marketing and Public Relations – Interns will have the opportunity to develop marketing and public relations plans for UFI, develop key messages for the organization, write news releases and opinion articles, and research what other organizations are doing to achieve success, and to develop UFI's online “store.”
International Policy (Open to students in all major programs with an interest in family issues and international policy)
United Nations – This internship is directed at research and monitoring of United Nations conferences and issues, as well as UN agencies and non-governmental organizations, regarding family policy issues. There will be possible involvement in the preparation of resource materials and publications on international family. Also, depending on time of year and need, there may be opportunity to attend a UN meeting and assist in lobbying.
Stay Alive (For persons majoring in: Child & Family Studies, Communication, English, Sociology & Social Work, General Studies, Health Sciences, Political Science, Home & Family Education, Teacher Education)
