UFI Introduces 'Guide to Family Issues: Abortion' on Anniversary of Roe v. Wade decision

Dear Friends,

The 34th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision marks the timely release this weekend of United Families International's latest publication - "Guide to Family Issues: Abortion." The Arizona chapter of UFI, United Families Arizona, will make the booklet available at pro-life rallies in Phoenix Sunday and Monday.

The "Guide to Family Issues: Abortion" is a compilation of social science research and pertinent commentary supporting the pro-life viewpoint, researched and written by UFI staff. This booklet provides insights into the most common misconceptions and misrepresentations on the topic of abortion, all backed up by peer-reviewed social science research and thoughtful commentary. You will want to get your own copy of the Guide to help educate the people in your circles of influence and get the truth out about the abortion industry.

Guides will be available for purchase at the United Families Arizona (UFA) booth at Sunday's Pro-Life Commemoration and Rally at Steele Indian School Park (Central Avenue and Indian School) in Phoenix, starting at 1:30 p.m. and on Monday at a pro-life rally at the Arizona State Senate (1700 West Washington St., Phoenix). UFA is a member of the Arizona Life Coalition, and the sanctity of life is one of its key issues.

Each year on the weekend nearest January 22, thousands of Arizonans gather in Phoenix to commemorate the lives lost to abortion and to take a stand for the sanctity of life. It was on that date in 1973 that the United States Supreme Court delivered the Roe v. Wade abortion decision, clearing the way for the abortion of an estimated 47.3 million pre-born children to date.

As a demonstration of unity and solidarity, Sunday's rally will be preceded by an optional march from the Xavier College Prep School parking lot (7th Street & Highland) to Steele Indian School Park, starting at 1:30 p.m. The Life March will proceed South on 7th Street and into the East entrance of the park.

Those not opting to march can arrive at Steele Indian School Park in time to visit the UFI booth and find a seat for the program beginning at 2 p.m. This year's keynote speakers are Arizona Congressman Trent Franks; Ronnajean Murphy, coordinator and facilitator at Rachel's Vineyard; and Colleen Clark, community outreach director at Crisis Pregnancy Centers of Greater Phoenix. Congressman Franks has spent most of his life working on children's issues and trying to build a better future for all children. He has a 100-percent pro-life voting record.

The theme of Monday's rally at the Arizona Senate lawn is "Abortion on Demand: At What Cost?" The rally goes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost of attending the rally is free, and participants can purchase a lunch from the Center for Arizona Policy. Once again, the "Guide to Family Issues: Abortion" will be available for purchase at the UFI display booth. Be sure to get your own personal copy and then use the information in debates, letters to the editor and informing others on the facts about abortion.

Sincerely,

Marilyn Crittenden
