12-year-old Stuns Pro-Choice Advocates

ufilogoFom LifeSiteNews:

12-year-old “Lia” of Toronto has become a star at her school and on Youtube with her five-minute pro-life speech, crafted for a school competition.  Despite discouragement and outright opposition, Lia’s presentation was so well done that she reportedly won the contest she was told she would be disqualified from, due to the “controversial” message of her speech.

Lia’s mother says that the topic was of her own choosing, and that she was determined not to back down, even after teachers told her it was “too mature” and “too controversial.”

“She was also told that if she went ahead with that topic, she would not be allowed to continue on in the speech competition,” Lia’s mother wrote in the email to the Moral Outcry blog.  “Initially, I tried helping her find other topics to speak on, but, in the end, she was adamant. She just felt she wanted to continue with the topic of abortion. So she forfeited her chance to compete in order to speak on something she was passionate about.”

At the schoolwide competition, the mom said one pro-choice teacher on the judge’s panel “didn’t even want to hear” the speech, and stepped down from the panel before Lia began.  After the speech, which Lia’s family said was well-received by both students and teachers, the judges initially told Lia she had indeed been disqualified.  But controversy among the judges eventually led to a reversal, and Lia’s family learned the next day that the panel agreed the girl deserved to win the competition.

This young lady will go places. We need more of our teens and pre-teens to hear this from someone their own age. News reports from England of young teens and preteens having sex and babies illustrates this very fact.

Bless you Lia for taking the stand you have taken and for the many facts that you presented. All those babies would thank you if they had lived! You are very brave.

Dearest Lia! Your are an Angel sent to earth to inspire others to save the voiceless tiniest Angels that are destroyed daily! Thanks you for your incredible strength, an example to all of us so much older, great knowledge that you have researched well and the ability to delivery the message so powerfully. This is one of the most important issues mankind faces today. Thank you Sweetheart!

What an incredible young woman! Is it too late to elect her president of this great land? She’s got a whole lot more common sense than the one “we” elected!

dear Lia, you must have been sent by God, not too many or almost all adults don’t have the courage to do what you did, every word you said was very true, l hope you can continue and go ahead promoting these kind of speeches, you have a great future if not in this world, in heaven for sure. May God bless you and your family

God bless you, Lia. Never, never, never give up.

When I was pregnant with our son, a neo-natologist found two small white spots on his liver in an ultrasound exam, and, believing it indicated cystic fibrosis, recommended abortion. For us, abortion was not an option. We rejected the neo-natologist.

Our son is now 15 years old, a high-honor student, working on his Eagle Scout rank, an athlete, and has never been sick in his life, except for a few minor colds and flu. He is intelligent, has a vibrant personality, and a keen sense of humor. He is the joy of our lives, and this world is lucky he is here. He is good.

When he was six years old, he overheard some family members discussing abortion, and someone mentioned the neo-natologist who wanted to abort him. He was so horrified to learn that “grown-ups kill unborn babies,” that he had nightmares for months; and for weeks he asked me over and over again how close we came to killing him. Despite all our reassurances that we never even considered it, he required many months of help to deal with it. He refused to trust adults for a long time.

What would happen if you told a classroom full of first-graders about abortion?

What a powerful speech. Lia did a wonderful job and you are an incredible young lady to stand up for what you believe in and to deliver it so eloquently. Our Father in Heaven is pleased and I’m sure he has great things in store for you.

    Dear Lia,

Thanks for your beautiful speech! It is so good to know that we are not alone in our reverence for life. Thanks for having the courage to speak the truth, even when some refuse to hear. I think we really are a silent majority. May we kindly speak up like you!

I am a mother of five children and I love them all. I cannot even imagine NOT wanting any of them. They are a blessing to my husband and me. When you grow up you will be wonderful mother. How blessed your children will be to be born to a mother who wanted them! You are wise beyond your years. God bless you. I’ll pray for you, that you can continue to be a force for positive change. May God protect you and fill you with his love.

    Dearest Lia,

I’m so thrilled to hear all the affects that abortions can have on women. I have been an Crisis Pregnancy Centre counselor for many years and the words you spoke are exactly what we told the girls & women who came in seeking an abortion.

Bless you little Lady. God has used you mightily.

I applaud this young woman’s speech, and most of the logic behind it. I am a pro-life Democrat who voted for Barack Obama believing that the Republicans have ill-served us in thier many, many years holding the White House since 1973. I think this young woman and others like her can and should bring protecting the unborn more and more into the public discourse as a *liberal* issue, which I think much of her argument does do. We can subvert old paradigms, make new allies, and move forward in protecting both women and the unborn as we forge new ways of talking, thinking, and acting in the face of this ongoing tragedy. Thanks for posting this video.

    Dear Lia,
I am twelve years old also, and I also feel strongly about stopping abortion. I love children and think that they should have rights also.
Thank you for giving that speech. It is quite uplifting. I am so happy that someone our age has the courage to stand up for what is right. Thank you so much for the wonderful speech.

What an incredible, moral and fine example Lia is for speaking up for the precious little unborn” innocents,” who cannot defend themselves. She is a fine example of how we all should be. I know that there is a shining crown in heaven waiting for Lia.
    God bless her.

. . . The most compelling and complete statement on behalf of life that I’ve ever witnessed. This topic is far from aborted if this girl has anything to say about it!

Wow this youg lady is exceptional in her delivery of such an important issue, she was able to address many of the questions that arise during these discussions . Its amazing how the united nations with the help of obama are pushing abortion, along with paid abortions by the government which democrats are pushing through the senate. Meanwhile business has already figured out there is a shortfall around the world of young people to support old age pensions, and the economy, its a dilemma.Europe especially is hooped. This young girl just solved the moral and economic problem.
