Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

Last week on the 41st anniversary of Roe v Wade, thousands of people braved the cold and marched in Washington to protest abortion. On Tuesday, Jan 28th, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 227-188 to end all federal funding for abortions.

One portion of the bill, known as the Hyde Amendment, prohibits federal funding of abortion with the exception of rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is in danger. Another part of the bill prevents the federal government from financing health plans that include coverage for elective abortions.

The House of Representatives have spoken for the majority of Americans. Recent polls suggest that 58% of Americans oppose tax dollar usage for abortions.

This bill will still need to pass the senate and be signed into law by President Obama. While those events seem unlikely, the House of Representatives have spoken loud and clear in favor of the American people, defenseless babies, and mothers who need support and quality health care.
