Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

TAKE A STAND TODAY

Over the past several months, astute readers have recognized an underlying theme to our varied “UFI alerts“.  This theme is summarized quite simply:  When the government of the United States of America stands firmly on behalf of the family, the impact is felt globally.  In contrast, when the US government equivocates, or, as in present circumstances where the Obama Administration is actively leading the anti-family agenda both domestically and internationally, the institutions of family, marriage, and the sanctity of life suffers around the world.

Setting the stage

The United Nations (UN) receives the hard-earned tax dollars paid by citizens of, usually, developed nations and donated to international programs designed to end global societal ills.  The nations that pass through their citizen’s tax money to the UN are referred to as “donor nations”.  Vast bureaucracies have developed to either spend, or in too many cases, absorb, the well-intentioned donated funds.

Over the last two decades, at least, another destination for donated funds has emerged.  This “destination” is in actuality the so-called “civil society”, or interchangeably, non-governmental organizations (NGO) that profit from the use of donated funds to advocate for and implement anti-family programs and policies on a global basis.   They are truly industrialized anti-family advocates.  For instance, Planned Parenthood International has for years been labeled “Global Abortion Inc.” They are not alone. The latest evidence of this is found in the debate over the so-called “International Violence Against Women Act” or IVAWA.

The IVAWA or “The Feminist Full Employment Act”

With this proposed legislation, the U.S. would spend $1 Billion to create additional bureaucracy and fund feminist and other anti-family NGOs (both foreign and domestic) over the next five years. This money is in addition to those donated to the UN for existing, and yes expanding, anti-family international programs.

It establishes in the US State Department an ambassadorial rank “czar” of international women’s issues, with broad powers to aid feminist groups both at home and abroad as well as attempt to dictate family policies to nations seeking US foreign aid.  It authorizes the new “czar” to spend US money on programs designed to change the cultural values and traditions of people in nations that conflict with the anti-family agenda, specifically “programs affecting social norms, community attitudes”. What most Americans don’t understand is that the bill includes them as targets for such feminist re-education!

Just Hold on There!

The US Congress recessed to run for election before final passage of the IVAWA could be achieved.  A threatened “lame duck” session (a post-election session conducted by legislators that, having been defeated at the ballot box but not yet removed from office, may legislate with impunity from the electorate) is likely to attempt to ram through the IVAWA and other anti-family programs.  While this outcome remains to be seen, the broad implications of increased anti-family conduct initiated by the radical US regime is, and will continue to be, felt around the world by those that value the family.  UFI will keep you informed on the status of IVAWA over the next few months.

The Answer

Violence against women is a terrible plague upon mankind.  It requires effort and vigilance to battle it at every front.  UFI supports and engages in those efforts, but we don’t believe that bills such as the agenda driven International Violence against Women (IVAWA) are part of the answer.   The historical problem of violence against women has worsened as the degradation of the family has accelerated around the world; we now see even more violence against women and children.  Yet, the solution to the problem lies not in increasing the payroll of feminist, anti-family NGOs, but rather in acknowledging that the institutions of family and marriage must be valued, cultivated, and encouraged by all people, in all nations. Recognition and promotion of the rights of women have been important in the effort to end violence against women, but the educational example of a loving, father and husband teaching his own children to value and honor women, in the end, is the best option for the long-term prevention of violence.

Your help is needed

UFI will continue to stand strong, representing you and your family in the face of such radical attempts to fund anti-family programs and values re-education everywhere we can.  While we do not enjoy an endowment that allows us to compete with your tax dollars and the treasuries of the UN and nations throughout the world, we are nonetheless successful in standing for those values you hold dear.  But the burden is large and the financial stress is great.  Please help us to help you in preserving the family for your children and generations to come by making a significant contribution to UFI today.

Best,
Michael Duff
