Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

Efforts began in November 2009 to get a repeal of Prop. 8 on the November ballot have failed.

The LGBT advocacy group leading the repeal effort, Love Honor Cherish, was unable to gather the 700,000 signatures required Monday in order to get the initiative on the November ballot. The group would not say how many signatures were actually gathered.

“There comes a point where the intake of signatures isn’t rapid enough to make up your deficit,” John Henning, head of Love Honor Cherish, said earlier this week. “We started to realize last week that we weren’t going to make it.”

Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean Prop. 8 is safe. Love Honor Cherish is already making plans to work with other activists to get another repeal on the November 2012 ballot. Additionally, the constitutional challenge to Prop. 8 is still in the courts, and most likely will be for quite some time.

This does seem to mean, however, that the people of California are still in support of traditional marriage and are still willing to uphold their original vote. Let us work to ensure that this remains the case by promoting the societal value of strong traditional marriages.
