Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

Supporters of “Family” Gather in Madrid

What happens when you take the magical city of Madrid and add almost 3000 people, including some 100+ experts on family issues, hundreds of volunteers, several nights of world-class entertainment and all the passion and excitement of the people of Spain? You get an incredibly successful World Congress of Families! This is the sixth time that the people of the world have gathered to celebrate the family, to network, to learn from one another, and to lay the groundwork for the pro-family/pro-life effort going forward.

What began with the first World Congress of Families, some 14 years ago in Prague, is now an internationally recognized conference of experts, – drawing 1000s of attendees and plenty of media attention. United Families International was proud to be one of the sponsors of this event including hosting an exhibit and sharing our expertise via a speaking assignment. UFI was well-represented.We were able to hand out hundreds of our signature tangerine-colored UFI bags with educational materials, Issues Guides and the newly -released “Family Capital and the Millennium Development Goals,” as we spoke to hundreds of people from all regions of the world who coursed by our exhibit. At the day-long “Youth Forum,” Marcia Barlow – Vice President of International Affairs – delivered her remarks on the question: “Will the Next Generation be Pro-Family?” The research she presented gave a new perspective on what the future may hold for our children and most particularly for our unborn.

This World Congress didn’t go unnoticed by those who oppose the promotion of traditional values and the natural family. In fact at a neighboring venue there in Madrid, an opposing group held a counter-conference that they “cleverly” titled “The Anti-Family Congress.” Yes, we were surprised that they were that overt in displaying their radical ideology! We have no word on the success of their conference, but we were highly aware of the heavy security and police presence surrounding the Madrid Palacio de Congresos where our three-day World Congress of Families was held. You can see a short video that was shot during the World Congress of Families Madrid. You’ll quickly see how hard the organizing committee worked and what a spectacularly successful event they were able to provide. The entire pro-family world thanks them!

We want you know that these World Congress events are open to everyone. We would LOVE to have you join our team and, we invite you to prepare now to attend the next one that will be held in Melbourne, Australia, in May 2013. If you ever thought of visiting “the land down under” now might be a good time to start making your plans!

One of the exciting announcements made at World Congress of Families was an amazing new website offered by UFI. If you are looking for a late-breaking news story about marriage, life or family or would like to find one place to get all your daily news relevant to the family… United Families International has created the perfect tool for you!

Instead of lots of Google searches, head straight for www.WorldFamilyNews.com with the tag line of: “News You Need to Know.” We stand by that tag line. This is a place where you can become informed and then inform others – and we’ll be providing that news to you six days a week.

For several years now we have been sending out our “Weekly News” and many of you have said how helpful it is. This new source of information takes the “Weekly News” to a whole new level. You can now find videos, upcoming events, research, as well as the day’s news stories you’ve grown to love! Be sure to “Bookmark” it or better yet, make it your home page.If you know of upcoming events or a news story that you think the rest of the world needs to know about, send it to us. We’ll be happy to post it. Let’s make this THE place for pro-family/pro-life news!

We feel certain that the information of this new website will help unite the pro-family movement and increase our ability to protect and preserve the family around the world. We invite you to use it to that end. Share it!

Sincerely,

Carol Soelberg
President, United Families International

P.S. We also wanted to highlight the U.S. premiere of the film: “For Greater Glory” The film is set in 1920’s Mexico and is a story of what individuals will sacrifice to protect their religious freedom. The movie premiered at the Madrid World Congress of Families and finished with an almost 15-minute standing ovation from the audience. “For Greater Glory” has an all-star cast and is beautifully filmed. Even the New York Times had an approving word or two for the movie. We do caution, however, that the film has an “R” rating because of the war scenes and accompanying violence.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”34px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
