Our Best Kept Secret!
One of the most important things we do at United Families International is to help citizens and policymakers become better educated and informed. Most people enjoy learning about something positive and hopeful, but even negative news can bring about something good by motivating people to get involved, or to cast better-informed votes.
UFI has many educational resources, but our best-kept secret may just be ourWorld Family News website. Sometimes called “the DrudgeReport of Family News,” it is a one-stop-shop for family news around the world and close to home.
New, current articles are posted daily, and in the immortal words of one of our UFI Interns, “There’s a lot of good stuff here!” A sampling of World Family News articles are listed below.
The articles are also archived topically under the categories of Marriage/Family, Parents, Pornography Religion, Sanctity of Life, and Sexual Orientation. What a great resource for future reference!
We invite you to visit our World Family News page often. You’re bound to find something that brings you up to speed, or answers a question on your mind.
While you’re at it, please visit our UFI Blog for thoughtful perspectives on family issues, and our UFI Facebook page. Give us a “like,” and share our posts on your own Facebook page!
Please help spread the word about our best-kept secret, and as you do, you’ll be helping your family and friends stay better informed on the issues that really “hit home.”
Warm Regards,
Laura Bunker

Marching for Life 2016: The Pro-Life Movement’s Many Advances
Forty-three years and 56 million abortions after the Supreme Court decision that made it legal to terminate a preborn life through all nine months of pregnancy, the pro-life movement has witnessed a cultural shift in the attitudes towards abortion, particularly among young people.
Bills Seek ‘Religious Freedom’ to Reject Same-Sex Marriage
Republican lawmakers in Virginia are sponsoring bills that, if enacted, would protect the rights of ministers and religious organizations to refuse to participate in or provide accommodations, goods or services for same-sex weddings if doing so would violate religious beliefs.
The Percentage of 12-year-olds who admit being addicted to porn will shock you
10% of 12-13 confessed that they are addicted to pornography and concerned that they can’t stop looking. This is becoming a problem for adolescents for two reasons; “young people are turning to the internet with questions about sex and relationships” and come across pornography, the next reason being that society has desensitized kids letting them think it’s normal to look at porn.
Are College Campuses the Next Battleground in Religious Freedom–LGBT Rights Conflict?
The Department of Education’s announcement this week that it will create a list of religiously affiliated schools exempted from federal policies banning sexual and gender identity-based discrimination was seen as a victory for LGBT activists and a harbinger of trouble for religious liberties.
Parents are the ones who need limits on screen time
The American Academy of Pediatrics has its recommendations on the amount of screen time for young children. Each family needs to analyze their own children and determine what is best for your child.
How Porn is Fueling Sexual Assault on College Campuses
What does sexual assault have to do with pornography? Well, turns out they’re more closely linked than people think.
Olympics Loosen Rules to Allow Pre-Op M-to-F Transsexuals to Compete with Women
The International Olympic Committee has determined that transgendered men who have declared themselves as women and reduced their testosterone levels to below 10 nmol/L for at least 12 months prior to their first competition, may compete against other women.
Marriage: Ready or Not
I was not ready for this thing called marriage. . .The truth is we may never be completely “ready” to do anything, and if we keep waiting we are missing out on life’s greatest opportunities.
The time of day when your child’s life is most at risk
Researchers have found the most dangerous time for your child. And, contrary to popular belief, it’s not at night. It’s actually in the morning, specifically at school drop-off time.
