From the Desk of Bob Spiel:
Since its very beginning, over 30 years ago, United Families International has been led by the most capable and committed volunteers that can be found anywhere. Their commitment to the cause of the family is deep and constant, and the effort they spend in promoting and defending this most fundamental part of society is an inspiration to any and all who were aware of the hours and hours of sacrifice made. Without exception, they do this because of a very deep spiritual and emotional connection to this work, as well as a genuine love for people everywhere.
UFI is thrilled now to announce that Tori Black will be taking the reins of President this month. Tori is taking the torch and will be supported by the incredible UFI executive team, while following the footsteps of predecessors in helping all UFI volunteers contribute their talents and gifts wherever and however they can. As Chairman of the Board of United Families international, and in behalf of our entire board and all volunteers, we welcome Tori and look forward to the amazing contribution she will make to this work!
Warmest Regards,
Bob Spiel, Chairman
Hello Friends!
I am grateful for the opportunity before me to serve as the president of United Families International. I was introduced to UFI as a college student majoring in Marriage and Family Studies. UFI’s focus on marriage, family, parenting, life and religious liberty spoke to me as did its advocacy work supporting nations in promoting and protecting family-friendly policy at the international level.
I recognized the importance of strong and stable families and homes from a young age. Having grown up in Southern California, I saw firsthand the effect of no-fault divorce on family and friends after its passage there in 1970. I watched as the fracturing of families wounded the young and handicapped the adults in their lives. The challenges facing families have only intensified since my childhood, and the ramifications of family breakdown are not limited to individual households. Indeed, they both contribute to the troubles that strain our communities and weaken our ability to confront our social ills.
The family is central to stable and thriving communities and nations. I am thankful to United Families International and the larger pro-family coalition as well as the many, many volunteers who tirelessly advocate on behalf of the family, and to you who support our work. Together we can protect the rights of children, parents, families, and especially those who are being threatened for expressing their religious convictions regarding home and family.
As I begin this journey, I thank you for your commitment to the natural family and ask for your continued support of United Families. As an all-volunteer organization, we work hard to maximize your tax-deductible contributions. If you have a desire to contribute with your hands as well as your heart, please contact us and join in educating and supporting individuals, communities and policymakers in defense of the family.
Faithfully for Families,
Tori Black
