Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

TAKE A STAND TODAY

The warning, “take caution – high wind advisory” posted this past week in some of the western states was not an exaggeration. My neighborhood felt the force of the high winds that reached up to 97 mph. Most homes were damaged, electricity was out for up to 72 hours in some areas and countless towering trees came crashing down around homes. I felt like I was in the Wizard of Oz movie as I watched trampolines, fences, and torn off metal flying through the air.

Days following the storm, neighbors and friends gathered to help with the clean up. As we gathered, the comments that kept circling were, “I had no idea it would be this bad”, “if I had known the extent of what was coming, I would have been more prepared.”  I must admit, that both of the comments are exactly how I felt. My irreplaceable patio set was picked up like a feather and thrown threw the air, crashing the glass top into what seems like a million pieces. Why didn’t I put it away? The reason is I didn’t expect the storm to be so strong or to be capable of leaving so much destruction in its path.

I have thought about how the weathermen must feel when they send out the warning and citizens like myself, either don’t believe what is said or honestly do not comprehend the damage that can occur. Sometimes I have felt like the weatherman when it comes to attempting to protect the value of life and family. I have been in the “radar station” at the United Nations witnessing the storms that were brewing against families and have attempted to send out warnings along with United Families International and other pro-family organizations to only fall on deaf ears.

I specifically remember coming back with the United Families International team from United Nations meetings in 2000 and 2001 shouting a warning that a full on attack on marriage was coming, hand in hand with a push for gay rights – and it was coming quickly.  At the time I remember sensing that people thought we were exaggerating or that we didn’t read the “forecast” correctly. I even heard many times, “that could never happen in our country.”  Well, eleven years later, we see that the forecast was correct.

The United Families International teams have an advantage of being in the “radar station” as the organization has accreditation at the United Nations. We have team members, including myself, that are able to witness firsthand the storms that are brewing – and it usually is focused on taking down conservative values such as protecting life and preserving the natural family.

Warning – there is another attack coming. Recent documents released in preparation for the 2014 International Year of the Family suggest that the role of the father will be undermined and that a focus will be on equalizing the role of the mother and father. Presenters of the document have been noted to say comments such as, “There is no difference in the contribution of a man or a woman” and “there is nothing innate or biologically necessary to care for a baby, other than breastfeeding.”   In their rule book, “sameness = equality.”

Our team at United Families International will be in the center of the activity at the United Nations and we will keep you posted on the “UN weather report” and how you can prepare and assist in what is coming. We may not be able to prevent the storm, but we can help prevent the damage that it leaves in its path.
