It’s hard to figure out liberal logic. Liberals will say that disagreeing with someone can tragically cause them to want to commit suicide, and therefore speech must be regulated. On the other hand, if the person who wants to commit suicide asks a doctor or nurse to assist them, then that is moral and compassionate. On June 20th, just before summer recess, the Canadian senate legalized euthanasia. The last step for this to become law is for the Governor General to sign it. And just like that, assisted suicide will be legal for all Canadians.
The bill is purposely left vague stating that a medical or nurse practitioner could approve a lethal injection if the person’s “natural death is reasonably foreseeable.” Of course, anyone could reasonably foresee the natural death of a newborn infant and every other person on the planet.
The bill also makes it clear that anyone involved in an assisted suicide will not be held accountable before the law. That includes all medical practitioners, beneficiaries, or anyone else participating in setting up or performing the lethal injection.
This of course, was touted as the compassionate thing to do. Instead of all life being sacred, life is only sacred at the points that it is popular. According to liberal logic it is a woman’s right to kill her babies, and compassionate to kill the elderly, the mentally ill, and the sick.
