Last week I shared with you the anti-mother/anti-family attack being made on Motherhood and the beautiful speech given by one of our writers, a former UFI intern, at the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women this past March. If you missed it (which you shouldn’t), she shares her change-of-heart story about Motherhood.
With Mother’s Day this Sunday, we wanted to say “thank you” to mothers and acknowledge all you do for your families. We also want to acknowledge and thank all women who reach out and shower their feminine nurturing care and love upon those around them, especially children and youth. You are a positive influence in lives and in society. We are so grateful for you all!
To celebrate, we wanted to share a video that we made when we interviewed people on the streets of New York City, about what a mother means to them. We hope you enjoy this short video as much as we do! (See the video below or use the link here.)
This weekend, let’s celebrate the mothers in our lives. Share your gratitude for the women who have shaped your lives; do it on social media or even better, face-to-face. Let your voice be heard regarding the power of mothers.

PS – UFI’s Marcia Barlow serves on the United Nations NGO Committee on the Family. We wanted to share the Committee’s event, this Tuesday, in celebration of the International Day of Families. It will be held via Zoom, on Tuesday, May 16th at 1:15-2:30pm EDT. This is a great opportunity to hear from an expert from the UN Population Division and from Lyman Stone, probably the world’s foremost researcher on factors associated with birth rates and fertility. (See the event flyer, below.)
